Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound or 450 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 4 large flour tortillas (1012 inches)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves (optional)
  • 1 small tomato, diced (optional)
  • 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breast into small cubes. In a bowl, combine the chicken cubes with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the marinated chicken cubes for 7-10 minutes until cooked through and golden brown. Be careful not to burn them – stir regularly.
  3. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the cheese sauce in a small pot. Melt 1 cup of cheddar cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, ½ cup of softened cream cheese, ½ cup of milk, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and optionally 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. This takes about 5 minutes.
  4. Once the chicken is cooked, add the cheese sauce to the skillet with the chicken and mix well. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  5. Warm the tortillas briefly in another skillet or microwave to make them flexible. Fill each tortilla with a generous portion of the chicken-cheese mixture.
  6. Optionally, add fresh spinach leaves, diced tomatoes, and avocado slices before carefully rolling the tortilla.
  7. Place the filled wraps seam-side down in the skillet and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the wraps from the skillet, garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley, and serve immediately. Enjoy your Cheesy Chicken Garlic Wraps!

Nutrition

Keywords: Avoid overcooking the chicken to keep it tender and juicy. A good non-stick skillet is essential for evenly browning the wraps and preventing sticking. Adjust the cheese ratios for the best flavor and creaminess. For extra crispy tortillas, add a bit more oil while frying. If you have leftovers, store the filling separately from the tortillas to maintain crispiness when reheating.
