- 2 large onions, sliced into rings
- 200 ml cream
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Preparation of the chicken (5 minutes): Pat the chicken breast fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and freshly ground pepper.
- Cutting the onions (5 minutes): Peel the two large onions and cut them into thin rings.
- Searing the chicken (6-8 minutes): Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large pan over medium to high heat. Add the seasoned chicken fillets and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- Searing the onions (7-10 minutes): In the same pan, add the onion rings and sauté for about 7-10 minutes until soft, glassy, and lightly golden brown.
- Preparing the sauce (5 minutes): Stir in 1 teaspoon of paprika powder for about 30 seconds, then add 200 ml of cream. Bring the sauce to a simmer and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cooking the chicken in the sauce (10 minutes): Return the seared chicken fillets to the pan, cover, and let simmer on low heat for another 10 minutes until cooked through.
- Serving (1 minute): Remove from heat, plate the creamy onion chicken, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
